Discover Lake Charles, Louisiana homes for sale and real estate with RE/MAX Louisiana real estate listings, condos, and townhomes.
The City of Lake Charles has really taken great pride in showcasing the Southwest Louisiana culture throughout the boardwalk. When exiting off I-10 into the heart of Lake Charles, you will find the beginning of the boardwalk and entrance into the Veteran's Memorial Park. Lake Charles honors its past, present and future service members with a grand American Flag, statues, and military vehicles. After paying respects to these men and women, you can meander down the path to park benches and picnic tables along the lake front. The local ducks and geese will greet you as you cross a bridge and find yourself in front of a tranquil fountain. Further down the boardwalk you can fish, dock your boat or maybe even crab off the steps of the seawall. Our great city of Lake Charles was able to obtain a meaningful piece of history from Ground Zero. The display embodies what the community is built upon...strength and relentlessness. Directly across from this display is the Amphitheater, where on spring and summer afternoons you and your family can enjoy local entertainment, fitness events, and fair rides. Building upon the family atmosphere there, Millennium Park is full of tree house type structures, swings, bridges, slides and tunnels. Kids imaginations can run free and parents can sit back and relax. Adjoining Millennium Park is a small water park/splash pad to escape the southern heat. Topping off the journey through the boardwalk, the city has recently added boat slips so local boat owners or travelers can park their boats.
