The Catahoula Hummingbird and Butterfly Garden, located in Bentley is open to the public and is a delightfully peaceful place to visit! It's one of Central Louisiana's best kept secrets. Created in 1995 as a project between the US Forest Service and Gardeners for Wildlife, the goal is to create a teachable wildlife recreation opportunity emphasizing on appreciating nature up close and personal. Due to the efforts of Gardeners for Wildlife, a not-for-profit group consisting of active residents volunteering, the garden continues to grow with the addition of a pond with waterfall, gazebo and charming country signs and arrangement’s. Scattered around you will find benches and places to relax and enjoy the hummingbirds, butterflies, plant-loving insects and other natural visitors in the garden. You will not be disappointed!
