  • As a self proclaimed foodie, or at least just someone who loves to eat some good unhealthy cookin', Daq's takes the cake for Monroe...except they don't actually serve any cake! The cheese sticks at this sports bar, almost pub type grill, are without a doubt some of the best I have had in the area (and I was born and raised here!). In addition to having the best cheese sticks, Daq's offers two varieties! The first being the typical mozzarella stick and the second being filled with pieces of perfectly spicy jalepeño and oooey--goooey cheese. Does it get any better?!

Furthermore, this charming restaurant was an excellent vision from the start. Their small building on Forsythe Avenue once stood empty as a vacated Sonic Drive-In. Five years later, the small local owned restaurant continues to thrive. The price may be a little above average for a sports bar & grill to some; however, we aren't talking about the average cheese sticks at Daq's. Try the Southwest Burger for your entree (or wings of course) and dare you swap cheese sticks for fried pickles? You won't regret stopping by this jewel of a local restaurant near the Marie Place and Lexington neighborhoods.
