The Louisiana Renaissance Festival in Hammond is a vibrant, immersive journey into the past, where the enchantment of the Renaissance comes to life in a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and smells. This past weekend, I celebrated my birthday at one of my favorite restaurants in Hammond, Tope La. They did not disappoint! I started with my favorite appetizer, the Asian Duck, followed by the delectable Chicken Maurepas with pecan rice. The meal was simply outstanding. Everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their dishes. If you're in Hammond and seeking a great meal at a good price, and with wonderful, friendly service, give Tope La a try.

This area is commonly called Cate addition. The Hammond Historic District has labeled this as Hyer-Cate. It is named after the secondary founder of the city, C.E. Cate, and the Hyer Survey, which dictated Hammond's layout primarily based on the location of the railroad tracks.
Original homes were circa 1890 - 1970 and included New Formalism, Craftsman, and Queen Anne Style architecture.

Boundaries are considered to be W. Dakota St on the north (including W. Idaho St. and Greenlawn Dr), then W. Thomas St on the south. On the West, N. General Patton St. to Laurel St thru SW Railroad Ave. The two blocks east and west of Cate Park and the three blocks to the south are considered part of the "downtown district." I've always loved a good brunch place. This restaurant always blows my expectations out of the water. Great food, great drink selection, and a great location. If you're looking for a good cheat day location, you found it!

If you're looking for a quick bite, a pleasurable dine-in experience with a group, or a place to meet your business partner to discuss those fine-tune details, this is the place for you. Dress for casual or business casual and you'll feel very comfortable attending this restaurant. You'll be greeted at the door by someone who will make you feel just as welcoming as your waitress. Enjoy your lunch or dinner with La Carreta Mexican Restaurant. The quality of food is just as good as the variety of selections.

If you are looking for good food with a laid back atmospere, Shack's is the place for you! They offer a wide variety of food from sandwiches, wraps, and more. Located convienently in downtown Hammond, it is the perfect location to grab a bite after a long day. The staff is very helpful and always offer fast service.

Are you looking for something to do with your little ones? If so, be sure to check out Skippy's Bounce Around located at 210 Hewitt Rd. This place offers a variety of bounce houses and slides that your little ones will be sure to enjoy. There's also a separate toddler play area where they can enjoy some smaller bounce houses that are age appropriate. Skippy's offers an option to purchase pizza and drinks if you would like to grab some lunch in between playing. If you're looking for a place to host a birthday party, they also offer party package options to accommodate all your party needs.

This experience absolutely deserved a review. After a long day of work, I walked in and was greeted by friendly staff led by Ms. Candy and Ms. Chloe. The staff is a firm believer in Southern hospitality and their food was even more delightful. For as long as I'm around the southeastern campus, I'll be stopping by for the best BBQ in town.

Our group has made an effort to celebrate Taco Tuesday every week over the last three months. Tacos & Beer will remain to be our go-to spot while they provide lively drinks, delicious food, and high-quality staff. Their Chimichanga and $1 street tacos are the bomb.com!

I love the staff at Royal Pets! They are friendly and great with all the fur babies they work with. I am always confident that my fur baby is in good hands when I bring him to get groomed. He always looks and smells amazing when I pick him up. I love having groomers that feel like family!

The snoballs are delicious! There are many specialty flavors and the ice is perfect. If you want to have more fun with your cool treat, get your snoball in a pineapple! Such a fun treat, especially on a hot day!

Tope La has delicious food and a great atmosphere! I am always torn between ordering steak or salmon. Both dishes are cooked perfectly and paired with an awesome side. If you have an event coming up, check out their catering services and venue as well. We had a wonderful time for my sister's bridal shower!

If you don't have a chance to stop by for dinner, be sure to mark your calendar for Sunday brunch. Great food and atmosphere! I created my own omelet and it was delicious. A delightful experience!

If you're in the mood for salad, soup, or a loaded baked potato, The Salad Station is a must see! The salad bar offers a wide variety of protein and home grown produce options. A convenient way to grab a healthy quick bite.

Bar-B-Que Station in Hammond has great food and service! There is a nice variety of plates, wraps, salads, and po-boys. It is located near Southeastern Louisiana University, which is also convenient if you happen to be on campus.

Come out and have a good ole' time celebrating Tangipahoa Parish's 150th Anniversary in Hammond on August 23 from 5:00-9:30 p.m.!! Hot August Night is always a great event that features live bands, food, and beverages..along with all the great restaurants and lounges that are already in Downtown Hammond. Come and have a great time with all your friends and neighbors.

Tangi Lanes has been around for a long time! You can go bowling, play pool or arcade games. It's also a nice gathering spot for families to have some fun together.

You can have tons of fun at Safari Quest! Enjoy a game of laser tag, climb coconut trees or tackle the ropes course. They also have an arcade and kids birthday party packages.
