Hello everyone: If you're anticipating relocating to where many locals often term, The Twin Cities of Shreveport and/or Bossier City, LA, you can't go wrong with either. We are only separated by a narrow stretch of the Mighty Red River. There are three bridges that allow access to either side: The Texas St. Bridge that leads from Downtown Shreveport into Bossier or Vice Versa; The Shreveport/Barksdale Bridge in the Anderson Island/Shreve City Area, which leads directly onto one of our pride and joys, The Barksdale Air Force Base; and/or The Jimmie Davis Bridge, soon to be under reconstruction. Two other options are Interstates 220 off of North Market Street in North Shreveport or 20 which enter each city, east and/or west. Our Twin Cities have a combined population of some 300,000. We're also often referred to as The Hollywood of the South, since (unfortunately for New Orleans) post Katrina, when our movie industry skyrocketed and thankfully boosted our economic development.Still another reference to The Twin Cities is "Little Las Vegas" because of our seven Casinos: Sam's Town and Eldorado on the Shreveport side; and on the Bossier City side, Margaritaville, Horseshoe, Boomtown, Diamond Jacks and Harrah's Louisiana Downs which offers thoroughbred racetrack. We absolutely love calling this place home. Trust you will too.
