    Jefferson, or Old Jefferson as it is commonly called, is a hidden gem in greater New Orleans. Tucked away down Jefferson Highway west of New Orleans proper, this neighborhood is easily passed by on your way to better know suburbs. Those who take a turn off the commercial corridor into the neighborhoods are in for a great surprise. Old Jefferson offers affordable homes with yard space. The homes range in size and price (upper 100k to 700k). Cottages built in the 1950s or earlier dominate the area with new construction and stunning remodels interspersed.

    Jefferson is convenient to everything, literally. You may recognize one of the local establishments, The River Shack, from its turn on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. It is minutes to Uptown with its universities, shopping, and dining, and you can be in the French Quarter or CBD quickly and easily. The levee is in your backyard for biking, running, and walking. Old Jefferson is an awesome place to call home.
