What better way to enjoy the cooler weather than to have a Pirate and Princess Day upon the historic battleship the USS Kidd! October 4, 2015 marked the first free Sunday event themed Pirates and Princesses Day in which the USS KIDD Veterans Museum, Louisiana Art & Science Museum, and the Planetarium were open free of charge! Guests were able to make crafts, take pictures and go on scavenger hunts with pirates. Cinderella and Belle were even there too!

The USS KIDD Veterans Museum hosts fun community events every first Sunday. The theme for Sunday, November 1st is Keep the Beat! International Drum Month. "First Free Sunday" is a partnership program among several downtown Baton Rouge museums that gives families an opportunity to visit local museums free of charge.
