    Vivian, LA
Although Vivian has lost some population over the last few years, Vivian is still a great place to live. With Interstate 49 being built and expected completion being within the next two years, Vivian will become more accessible to those who may want more and faster access to Shreveport. Vivian, Louisiana has a great small town feel, with a few small stores and its own police department. If you're looking for a small town to call home, Vivian is a great choice.

The opening of the new North Caddo Medical Center has been delayed The new grand opening date is August 23, 2015. In addition to Vivian-proper, the center also primarily serves citizens of Mooringsport, Oil City, Rodessa, Ida, Mira, Hosston, Gilliam, etc. Not sure of time of opening, but if planning to attend or just anticipating completion, call the existing facility at 318-375-3234.

A portion of my 4th of July weekend activities included visiting family and friends in North Caddo Parish to include Hosston and Vivian, LA. Vivian is where I graduated from North Caddo High School. It's always reminiscent driving by there. In close proximity to the High School is the construction of the New North Caddo Medical Center. I was excited to see that it's near completion and slated to be complete in a couple of months.

If, by chance, you're in the area tomorrow or want to venture in that direction, I encourage you to stop by the existing Medical Center, established in 1965, located at 1003 Spruce Street and contribute to the fundraiser for Kyle Moore by purchasing a BBQ plate lunch. The event starts at 11:00 am and ends when we sell out. Little Kyle was born on April 8, 2015 and has a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He is scheduled to have another major surgery next week in New Orleans. The family will use the proceeds for traveling and living expenses while there.
