I understand we're smaller in comparison to some of the Krewes celebrating our Mardi Gras season, yet we pride ourselves on being more unique and most family friendly! Sometimes we like being plain old grown ups too. To that end, we hosted our adults-only "Game of Thrones" themed Masquerade Ball on Friday, February 24th at the Randall T. Moore Center located at 3101 Fairfield Avenue. Tickets were an affordable $45 for Krewe members and $55 for guests. In advance, we encouraged attendees to watch the HBO television series, "Game of Thrones" to inspire their attire, though black tie was optional and battle gear was strongly encouraged. Masques were mandated and the entire event was lots of fun! Looking forward to next year's event!

Julie Anne's Bakery has been creating the most delicious specialty baked goods since 1992. The eatery is located on Kings Highway near intersection of Kings and Line Avenue, next door to Walgreen's Drug Store. Their bakery items are baked fresh every morning before the sunrise. If you happen to be driving by, you can't miss the incredible aroma.

Julie Anne's is open Monday-Saturday, 6:30 am - 6:00 pm, closed on Sunday. In addition to the bakery items, they also have a great, all day lunch menu. Catering is available and guaranteed. Been there, done that. You certainly won't be disappointed!

TGIF!!! I am gearing up for tomorrow's Highland Jazz and Blues Festival, outside, in Columbia Park. Six non-stop hours. From noon until 5 p.m. I am anticipating some great music by local and national musicians. Also looking forward to the really neat booths where I find one-of-a-kind jewelry, art, and, of course the food! The best part is that the festival is free!

I've been going the last four to five years of it's 12 year run. Always enjoyable. The weather is predicted to be rain free with the high to be 95 and the low 70.
