Enjoy biking, walking, jogging or skateboarding along this 1.8 mile path through beautiful Audubon Park, with its canopy of mossy live oaks. The park sits on land purchased by New Orleans over 145 years ago and named after naturalist John James Audubon. The World Cotton Centennial was held here in 1884. One of my favorite things to do is watch the thousands of migratory birds that descend on Bird Island in one of the park lagoons.

This company was the largest manufacturer of cigars at the time. Locals as well as visitors are often spotted sitting on the large front gallery as they chat and enjoy a drink.
