It's all about the location! This adorable neighborhood is within walking distance to LSU, the LSU Lakes, shopping, restaurants, parks, and everything that is wonderful about Baton Rouge! Gracious older homes and cottages prevail, but there are a few newer properties that have been built recently in the neighborhood.

College Town is one of Baton Rouge's oldest subdivisions with home prices from about $400,000 to over $1 million. Conveniently located off of Stanford Ave and Highland Rd, this is no doubt one of Baton Rouge's finest neighborhoods! More than ever, you will love living in a neighborhood where you can enjoy strolling or biking along the LSU Lakes!

College Town was developed in 1923. The price of an average lot in 1963 was $7,000. Today a vacant lot is an extreme rarity - a lot last sold in April 2013 and the purchase price was $250,000!

The College Town Neighborhood Park is another example of BREC partnering with local residents to fund the renovation of neighborhood parks. This is one of my favorite parks in a beautiful part of south Baton Rouge.

The Highland Cemetery is the final resting place for two veterans of the Revolutionary War as well as numerous veterans of the War of 1812 and the Civil War. Highland Cemetery was virtually abandoned after the Civil War as families preferred the newer, larger cemeteries closer to downtown Baton Rouge. The gates to the cemetery are just steps from the College Town Neighborhood Park. A very interesting piece of Baton Rouge's past in a beautiful setting.
